The various McFarlane gaskets are made from a military spec cork rubber, MIL-C-6183. It is created from a mixture of cork granules and rubber resulting in a flexible, durable,
high-strength material ideal for superior sealing capabilities, excellent recovery properties, conformability on uneven flange surfaces, reduced vibration and minimum distortion.
